He put the ring in my mashed potatoes. My then boyfriend and I were enjoying a very lovely, very fancy meal of steak and potatoes in a Las Vegas steakhouse when he asked me to marry him. I took a bite of food and as I was chewing he slipped the ring into my mashed potatoes. When I looked down and saw something shiny, I almost choked. Literally. It was then that he looked at me and asked me to be his wife. I said yes. I cried. I licked mashed potatoes off my ring. Though his may not be the fairy tale, full of romance kind of whimsical story one may expect for a proposal, it was absolutely perfect and it was perfectly us. It was just the two of us, loving unconditionally and laughing hysterically.
Now, almost 3 years after my ring took a swim in the mashed potatoes, with one year of marriage under our belts, we still love unconditionally and laugh hysterically. That perfect night in Las Vegas lead to an even more perfect wedding one year ago this weekend (the 24th to be exact).
In lieu of one awesome year of marriage, I thought I’d share a few of our wedding photos. These were all taken by the always fabulous Craig of Studio563. He did such a great job with all of our photos, I just couldn’t resist posting a few here!

For those of you who may not know us, I bet the ring in the mashed potatoes is starting to make a bit more sense….![]()

Here’s to many more years of loving unconditionally and laughing hysterically. I love you babe![]()
