- Erica and Nathan – Part 1: The Proposal -

Several weeks ago I had the honor of photographing a proposal! This proposal happened to be extra special to me because Erica, the proposee, is my older sister! Nathan had been plotting planning the perfect proposal for a few months. He has spoken to me about it (that’s right Erica, I knew all along!!) and we had talked over several ideas for the big moment. He finally decided on what he thought would be the perfect day to give Erica the ring. His parents were coming to Houston from the East Coast for the first time. We had all already decided that during their visit, we were going to have a dinner at my parent’s house so that the two families could meet. Well, word traveled fast that this could be “the day” so lots of our family friends came over for the dinner too! Since there were so many people there, Nathan explained to Erica that he wanted to take a minute to say thank you to every one for coming and making his parent feel so welcome and he wanted Erica to stand up there with him.  Little did Erica know, that wasn’t the only thing he had planned to say. The picture progression below shows the proposal in its entirety. It starts with Nathan’s ‘thank you’, quickly moves to Erica realizing what’s happening, then the proposal, and finally she says yes!!

Nathan, thank you for letting me be a part of this. Not only was photographing it fun, but getting to tell Erica that I knew all about it the WHOLE time was even more fun;)Seriously though, I’m so very excited for the two of you. I’m also excited you decided to get married on the beach in Mexico because, well, we all get to take a trip to Mexico!!:)

Love you guys and congratulations again!!
